What's In Your Deodorant?

Deodorants and Antiperspirants are items that most adults use daily that are FULL of harmful chemicals. Antiperspirants disrupt the bodyโ€™s ability to eliminate toxins through the armpit glands, so in addition to stopping the body from naturally cleansing and detoxifying, deodorants and antiperspirants also release toxins into the body.ย

Toxins you want to avoid in your deodorant are:

The active ingredient in antiperspirant is Aluminum. It stops your body from sweating by dissolving into your skin and clogging your pores. Exposure to aluminum has been linked to Alzheimerโ€™s development and it also interferes with estrogen levels. When the body has an increase of estrogen, cancers such as breast and prostate can develop.

The use of Propylene glycol can irritate the skin, cause issues to the central nervous system, heart and liver. It can be harmful at a dose as small as 2%, however, deodorants can have a dose of 50%!

Luckily there are many options out there that are more natural and still work!ย  If you have been using the same brand for many years, it may take some getting used to as the consistency may be a bit different, but for your health, you can change!!ย
